I know it might sound weird but I get nervous before a shoot. I have a sense that most photographers do. And I’m not even the one that’s getting nude! Most of the nude shoots that I do are very low pressure that I set up to create my “art” and to do what I want to do as far as the images that I create. So why the nerves? I’m not really sure. Maybe it’s me projecting nerves onto the model. Maybe it’s fear of not making the “art” that I envision. Or it could be working with a model for the first time. Usually after we get started and a rapport is built, the shoot starts to take form and images while maybe not what I had intended to create give me a sense of where the shoot is going to go, what the model is like and how the collaboration is will take shape. At that point a rhythm is established, nerves ease and the fun begins.

As a photographer I know that I should be able to work with any type of model with any personality type. But the model, for me, can make or break a shoot. Kisa made this shoot. Her laid back attitude and and ability to tune in to my vision allowed me to capture some beautiful images. Here are some random images from the shoot with Kisa.
