It has been a long while since I have posted anything. Life gets crazy, and we make thousands of excuses as to why not to share the work we create. My intention is to start sharing some uncensored images from my shoots over the past few years in no particular order. One issue that I have is that essentially any image that is posted online these days is fed to the ever-growing AI monster that is creating the most horrendous visual slop that humans have ever seen! Yet another excuse not to share what we create. I wish there was a way to encrypt images so that it would poison AI. There must be something that we can do as photographers and models to protect what we create. People stealing our images was bad enough; now we have this ravenous machine devouring our “content”. I hate that word when it’s being used to qualify what we do. It’s these platforms really that have reduced our art form to content. We feed the machine that feeds us content. Do we even really look at the images that we see, or are we just flicking through to get a dopamine hit? I know that I catch myself doing that a lot! Hang on, let me get AI to check my work, oh, that’s better. I don’t know about you, but the images that I create have meaning, and I don’t want AI sucking the soul out of what I do. In return, though, I do get to suggest to Midjourney what I want it to show me, and it shows me what it thinks it wants me to see. As I click the image button to add the image below, there is a new button that says generate image with AI. Really?!?!?!? Enjoy some non-AI images that I actually took with a real camera. Who’d have thought that a digital camera would be primitive technology so soon?
